Forfyre MP Insulation

The Forfyre MP microporous insulation materials have a very high insulation value in minimum material thickness . The thermal conductivity coefficient is even lower than still standing air. The materials therefore deliver higher energy savings compared to traditional insulation products. Forfyre MP offers interesting technical advantages in a wide temperature range up to max. 1200 C.

The excellent insulating performance is due to the extremely low thermal conductivity of the microporous mineral matrix. The low material conductivity results from the combination of very small silica particles of about 10 nm, which only touch at one single point. The pores in which the gas molecules can transfer their energy to the next molecule are smaller than the required free path length of the gas. As a result, convection is kept to a minimum. The added opacifying agents block the heat transfer by radiation. The three forms of heat transfer - conduction, convection and radiation - are optimally limited.

Forfyre MP insulation has a high temperature resistance up to 1200 ° C. Especially at high temperatures, the products have the insulating effect of alternative insulating materials. The thermal conductivity increases very slowly as the temperature increases, and there is virtually no shrinkage when exposed to the maximum temperature. Furthermore, the micro-prone insulation products are resistant to high temperature fluctuations (thermal shocks).
